by: Maurice McCormick Well, let me first start off by saying that this has been a very exciting and interesting issue to publish on both a professional and personal level. On a professional level, the company has gone through quite a few changes, including the VASSAR TV project coming soon and the launch of the new site. Also, we have had a rapid flow of new writers, contributors, artists and models. So hold on to your horses and watch out for an explosion of new features from VASSARmagazine.com!
On a personal level, I’ve had to deal with a sensitive issue – the loss of a good friend through selfish behaviors on BOTH parties’ sides. What we failed to do in our friendship was to define acceptable boundaries within the friendship and to understand where to draw the line with joking and realness. We also failed to accept the fact that we cannot change each other, and we should have worked on finding compromises to our situations. When I say compromise, I am not speaking in the sense that only one party of the friendship makes all the sacrifices to appease the other one. The things I chose to walk away with and be happy about are all the wonderful memories that we did share. The good times were really awesome, so it’s too bad a little bump in the road caused us to walk away; but that’s life. There will always be a special place in my heart for our friendship, and, who knows, we might revisit that friendship again one day.
So that is all from me this month. As usual, I hope you all enjoy this issue as much as we have enjoyed putting it together. I would also like to take this moment to give special thanks to George Robinson (Cover Model) for a job well done and Colleen Lippert (Cover Editor) for a superb job on our new media kit and press releases. Hats off to you both for an outstanding job!
